Symbolon
I am yet again very blessed and very grateful to be able to share with you a new reading. Symbolon cards are not divining cards, they are memory triggers. What this means is; let’s say you have a problem that is over-whelming you, you feel like you just cannot get a grasp on it and you’re completely lost and unsure where to turn. Chances are you just need to remember where the real issue is. This is what Symbolon does, opens memory windows for you…
To truly get the most out of Symbolon, you honestly need to spend some quiet time, concentrating, relaxing and letting go of everything surrounding you. Approach the reading with no expectations, just be prepared to be grateful. This is not the type of reading you would do every day, in fact I would go so far as to say this may be the type of thing you save up for every six months – unless you’re on the fast track to delving deep into your soul! However everyone is unique, so instead of my suggestions, trust your own instincts and guides. Please keep in mind that this is not Tarot and the messages will be powerful triggers, perhaps unlike anything you’ve used before, and to some may appear harsh, keep in mind they are designed to take you to places that you perhaps have not been able to get to by yourself.The imagery of this unique 80-card deck helps the reader uncover memories from deep within the soul for profound personal insights. This is a reading for a friend who came to me confused, lost and saddened. A very close friendship of hers had recently broken down with someone she cared (and still does care) very much for.
Miss Lost: What do I do, I am at a complete loss, I don’t understand why I have been cut off. It’s as if I’ve ceased to exist. What does all this mean? What did I do wrong?
The Problem
Black Mass
You have become lost in a particular insight and now believe you have found the truth. But you are only being fooled by a subtle notion (of the truth). You are trapped spiritually.
Jen: Drawing this card it seems very obvious to me that this has created a huge black cloud around her. Also that it is a very big part of her life at the moment – there are three people up at an an altar and even others have come to see what is happening. Which says to me that every part of her psyche seems to have been involved in this relationship. More so they all have their backs to us – which re-affirms her question – and confirms that she is not being included, she didn’t use the words in her question however I would say this friend has completely turned their back on her. There is something that is currently being kept from her – she is not being informed on all the facts. I also asked if more than one person was involved? It is important to note that the memory trigger here is… where is she excluding others?
# PROTIP Whilst reading the text is very important, spend some time studying the image, if you know your astrology you can also see how the astrological symbols come to play. Here we see Scorpio/Sagittarius, Pluto/Jupiter and to me this again reaffirms how BIG this is for her. This was not a trivial friendship. Pluto is great for bringing us down,stripping us bare and revealing those things we believe we do not want to see.

The Lover
As much as esoteric circles propagate “letting go” of body and matter, your path ahead involves thinking about Venus. That means becoming her friend. Learn to see life as a sensual experience and to respect and value your body as the residence of the soul without exaggerating its importance or wasting your energy.
Jen: We worked through the text together. I asked if perhaps she was vain in this relationship and focused too much on her own needs (remember these are memory triggers – things to look inside ourselves for)? She initially said ‘no, that’s not what this card meant’. This is a perfect example of how the card can resonate more highly with the person having the reading than the reader. Then upon reflection she understood how she might be being perceived as being slightly self absorbed, and that the image and the text made perfect sense to her and she would reflect upon it more.
#PROTIP Sometimes the ‘ah-ha’ moments come from within, that is what makes these cards so perfect for self readings – if you can be completely honest with yourself and let go. You will find them a complete blessing.
The Outcome
The Preacher
You will continue to grow, to become more open-minded and tolerant. Mnemosyne, the Goddess of Memory, has a treasure waiting for you at the end of the journey: insight is the wealth of the soul.
Jen: Jupiter/Sagittarius again. Jupiter is all about big, expansive, growing. And here we have the preacher, a teacher if you like… seems very clear to me this was a big life lesson. She said I guess it is a life lesson a little bit… but about how friends let you down? We discussed this in more detail until she realized that it was in fact a lesson for her about her, not about anyone else. Also, even though she is hurting she must forgive with complete pure love. How different is this card to the first one? Our first card ‘The Problem’ had black cloaked backs to us, secretive, dark and heavy. Now we have light, and he’s facing us and smiling, his hands are raised and even the card tells us that this growth will help her move forward toward the light.
#PROTIP Unlike many other divination cards you tend to read each of these as individual stories, however always look for common threads. The Jupiter in two of the three cards was a very noticeable thread and really does affirm just how ‘big’ this was for her. Occasionally a reading needs further clarification and I do find this especially true with some Symbolon Readings, as such we have included the option of an additional single card.
Jen: So my friend understood the three cards, could see where she would now focus, but just still wasn’t sure why this happened? As such she asked if one more card could shed some light to explain why.
Overall Card
The Partner
You have rediscovered yourself in the other, found balance and harmony between the inner and external partners. Now the symbolon has been reunited. The pieces have been put together. You are not yet prepared to look into the mirror of the other and recognize what you see there as part of yourself. You refuse to understand that the other is only expressing your own otherness. The path involves learning to understand yourself in others. This means mutual exchange and offering your hand to the other in reconciliation (or understanding). It is vital to meet someone along the way who opens your eyes. You have rediscovered yourself in the other, found balance and harmony between the inner and external partners. Now the symbolon has been reunited. The pieces have been put together.
Jen: I think for even the novice this last card answer pretty much sums it all up. Miss Lost said after reading this text and processing it for a minute “Ooooh! I get it, wow, that’s incredibly accurate and it makes sense now, finally.” Is this not the perfect extra card for both her and you? The realisation that these cards are in fact memory triggers and what we see externally is only a direct reflection of what is going on internally.
Let’s put them altogether. The Nutshell if you will, her question, Why am I being cut off? The Problem, confirmation card (+1) yes, you are being ignored, you do not have all the facts and I can see how hard and big and consuming this is for you. However, have you created the stage upon which it all sits? The way through the Problem: Value who you are, respect your body and the soul for which it is a vessel. The Outcome: Appreciate and give thanks for the learning of a big Life Lesson. Release, let go and move forward. Additional card: The Partner: learn to value, respect and love who you are. There is a lesson for all of us I believe about self worth and valuing ourselves. Loving ourselves so that others can see the beauty that already exists within, instead of looking for your beauty to be reflected back to you by others.
